Christina Thaier is our founder and director, and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. She’s passionate about supporting adults, couples, and mental health professionals who are seeking growth and self-reflection at any stage in life. Outside of the therapy room, you can find her teaching, writing, or mentoring new professionals in the field.

Christina founded Terrace House because she believes that each of us deserves the opportunity to design a life that we love; one in which we feel at home in our bodies, in our minds, in our relationships, and in our world.

She enjoys working with couples, adults, and adolescents to define and change their relationship with the problems in their lives including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, identity exploration (including LGBTQ+), existential questions, spiritual concerns, career concerns, and relational wounds (including betrayal, divorce, and attachment.)  High-achieving, creative folks often find themselves in alignment with her narrative style and relational approach.

She believes that each of us holds a deeply personal and intricate story of who we are and what is possible though we are not always aware of what those stories are, or what we might want them to be. Christina will partner with you to discover the stories in your own heart – both the ones that brought you here and those that will take you where you want to go.

We might be a good match if…

  • you don't like where you are (or who you're becoming) in your own story and want someone to help you see what's possible

  • you're feeling stuck or wounded in your relationship but believe it's worth fighting for

  • you want someone to help you re-define (and decide for yourself) what it means to live a good life, achieve success, or have a healthy relationship
